FRIEND OF MINE

UNEDITED SAMPLE LITERARY ARTICLE

You’re just someone I know. You’re just someone I used to laugh with. You’re just someone I used to talk to. You’re just someone I used to call “friend”.

Those thoughts keep on running in my mind. I thought you’ll just be an ordinary person that will come in and go out of my life.

At first, we just greet each other with simple “hi” and “hello”. Then, we became friends. We share our own experiences and stories- may it be funny, scary, sad or embarrassing. As days pass by, we became closer and closer to each other finding ourselves as best friends.

Our friendship grew deeper into something I cannot understand. You are always here beside me when I’m down. You always cheer me up when I’m in pain. You always wipe away my tears when I’m sad. You’re always there for me no matter what.

Just like you, I would always want to be your shoulder to lean on. I would gladly be the one to sit beside you when you’re alone. I will also wipe your tears away when you cry. And I will do my very best to cheer you up when you are sad – because what hurts you up inside is twice the pain I feel whenever I see you lonely.

I don’t know why. I thought you’re just someone I know. I thought you’re just someone I used to laugh with. I thought you’re just someone I used to talk to. I thought you’re just someone I used to call “friend”.

But that’s only what I thought. Because now, you are that someone, that special someone, that I call “mine”.
