Ear piercing shrieks and heart-stopping moments came to an end as Rafael Nadal snatched his place to the finals when he crushed Rainer Schuettler during the semifinals of Wimbledon 2008 at the centre court, July 4.

Non-stop rallies between these two players definitely made the crowd go wild. With Schuettler’s backhands and Nadal’s known service aces, everyone was caught up on high as Nadal grabbed the first set with the score of 6-1.

After losing a set to his opponent, Schuettler came even more aggressive and took chances as the second set began. With Nadal’s play on the rocks, the German tennis prodigy gained a huge advantage against the King of Clay. But it all came to an end with a tie break, still leaving Nadal in the lead with the score of 7-6.

In the middle of the game, Nadal had a knee injury and it was bleeding all throughout the set. But it didn’t stop the Spanish pride from grabbing the last set and thus, came out victorious.

Rafael Nadal will be going head to head with -time Wimbledon Men’s Singles Champion Roger Federer in the upcoming Wimbledon Championships this Sunday.
