PUBLIC OR PRIVATE, RICH OR POOR?

UNEDITED SAMPLE EDITORIAL ARTICLE
By Geraldine A Refareal

When March came, many graduating students are starting to enrol to different schools for high school, as they pick, did they ever wonder- Public or Private

If you were a parent, you would probably give your children the best education and your interest at heart for them. Will you add to that – ‘Whatever it costs?’ Public would be a thrifty choice, but you can never be too sure. Private schools mean taking expensive risks.

What’s wrong about public schools? What does it mean for some people? Maybe they are thinking that it isn’t that challenging for their kids. Is Makati science still not enough? Although it is a public school, it has standards that of the most prestigious high school there ever were on Philippines.

They say only rich kids are deserving to be fruitful in knowledge only because they have the pleasure of the best education. What about the less fortunate? They can’t go there where these kids go. Well, we deserve the same kind of treatment they have don’t we?

The way of teaching in private schools is the only difference from the two. That’s because the teacher varies. Even though they look down on us, we have talents most of them can’t do what most of us can do.

So, public or private? You decide.
