Chotto matte kudasai…I just want to hear again those laughter and stories. Chotto matte kudasai…I just want to see, for the last time, those grinning faces and sparkling eyes. Chotto matte kudasai…I just want them to know I’m there.
I can still hear the voices from my very first day of classes here in Makati Science High School. I can still recall who my first friends were. And I can still recall how it is to be a MakSci student.
Now, I’m a full pledged fourth year and graduating. I don’t have the greatest honors. I don’t even have a long speech to say. But I know that I learned something that I’ll keep close to my heart.
I learned that you can’t survive a day without having a friend to lean on. I learned that cramming doesn’t come in handy. I learned that Math is not learned overnight. I learned that flag ceremonies, sometimes, make up your day. I learned that sportsmanship is also a virtue. I learned that if there is really a way, you can come up with a solution. Most of all, I learned that there’s more to knowledge one could ever have…and that’s character.
I know time flies fast. Sooner or later, I’ll be walking in and out of the school without being shouted by “Robocop”. And maybe, when that time comes, I’ve already forgotten some things that I usually love. But one thing will always remain. The joy, the laughter, the tears and smiles will always be a part of me. If only I can say Chotto matter kuadasai.
